Getting crafty - DIY Calendar

Finally, finally Friday - whoop!

Hopefully, I can get a bit more out of this weekend than the last (and the last two weeks for that matter)..

As I haven't been feeling all that great lately, I've tried some small DIY projects, just to feel like I am actually accomplishing something..

I tend to get a bit nutty if I don't have any outlets for my weird sense of creativity - and to be honest, there's not a lot of opportunity for that in my day job...

So in the spirit of getting organised, I made myself this monochrome (all black and white) calendar for next year...

If you'd like one, you can find a downloadable copy on Etsy

 What do you think?

Tuesdays are the worst

Morning!

So, I am back in the office at home.. I did try to go into work yesterday, but it did not end well..

I am trying to cheer myself up and keep positive, so I've started the day with some coffee and a nicer than average breakfast  - pains au chocolate <3

See you later!

DIY key holder

My love of simple, yet clever DIY ideas is endless!

I've seen something like this before, but thought I would give it a go, and here's the result!

I actually had this frame already, as I had planned to give it to my sister. The fact that it has keys on it is just a bizarre coincidence. But hey, it works, right?!

All you need is a picture frame, a small hook and somewhere to hang it on the wall - unless you of course have a table to place the frame on.. That would be my choice... If I had a table...

Hope you liked it :)

New beginnings

Hi all,

That means, if there's anyone still out there reading my blog.

I must admit that I fell victim to corporate preassure last year, and pretty much lost track of my personal life.. Oh well, that was soo 2013. New year, new beginnings, right?! What a cliche

Anyways, I figured I should find a new creative outlet to get my work/life balance back on track.. So besides revisiting this blog, I've listed a few  photographs on Etsy, so head on over and show some support, why don't you :)

Amongst others, you'll find this picture of a Hindu God, which was taken on a recent trip to Mauritius. I'm actually quite proud of it! Let me know what you think..

Hope you're all having a great start to the year!

See you soon..

Southport and cream tea

So, of course our plans of going to Wales were foiled  by rain! So thanks a lot for NOTHING weather gods.. However, the bf did wake me up by saying he had thought of something else to do - a little trip to Southport.. Although it was windy as hell, and incredibly cold, at least it didn't rain! We went there about 2 years ago and had the best cream tea ever.. So we hopped on a train and made our way to the old Victorian-looking town - which also has  2nd longest/oldests iron pier in Great Britain.. The bf loves these facts!

Lets just say we had a lot of food - doughnuts, fish & chips and then cream tea... If you're ever around, you should definitely check out Nostalgia Tea Rooms..

In other wordws - a good day out!

Snowdonia

One more sleep and it's finally Friday - two more hours and it's home time!!!

Not sure why, but this week has really dragged on, so I am extra excited to go to Snowdonia National Park on Saturday... As Wales tends to be a very wet place, I'm crossing my fingers - I really need the weather gods to be on my side for once, and grant me beautiful sunshine, so we can go for a nice, long walk!

My camera will obviously be coming with me, so I'm hoping to get some good pictures to share with you!

Hope you're having a good week so far :)

It WAS a perfect day

Until I suddenly felt terribly ill... Room is spinning, having cold sweats, feel like being sick - kill me now!!! But hey, lets focus on the happy times..

Today I got up early and headed over to the bf's for a lovely breakfast.. Oh, how he spoils me :) Then we decided to make the most of the beautiful weather and walked into town along the waterfront.. Lets just mention that it's a 1 1/2 hour walk.. Yeah buddy!

Enroute we kind of stumbled upon the newly reopened Liverpool Festival Gardens.. We'll definitely be going back when it gets warmer - it's absolutely gorgeous! Japanese and Chinese gardens, little lakes and bridges - love it..

When we got into town, we stopped for coffee and cake before dashing into the Walker Art Gallery.. Once again we ended up laughing at the "modern art" section - seriously, I just don't get it! There's some lines/boxes here and there and that's art?!!

Anyways, here are a couple of snapshots from today..

Liverpool Festival Gardens - my camera will definitely be coming with me next time!

The famous Liver Building - love the business district!

Walker Art Gallery..  Just a tip - I would give the John Moores exhibition a miss if I were you!

Yes - this dress is made of hair, and is naturally the work of Thelma Madine.. You know, the one that makes the Gypsy wedding dresses.. It all makes sense!

Hope you've had a good one!

2012: Flashback

Time really does seem to fly by as you get older, doesn't it?!

2012 has had it's ups and downs like any other year, but all in all, it's been pretty good! I've been to Wales, Scotland, Morocco and Norway and have had lots of weekends away here and there with the bf.. I even persuaded him to go camping!

I started the year in a hot tub at our family cabin in Norway with beautiful white snow falling from the skies and spent my very first Christmas in England - and was not at all surprised when it rained.. I've swapped jobs - twice and learned how to drive on the WRONG side of the road.. And of course - I started a blog!

It's been eventful and I can't wait to see what 2013 has in store..

Bring it on!

Hope you're all enjoying the last day of 2012 and that you're all prepared for an even better 2013!

Pictures from the markets

Hi, everyone!

How's your weekend?

I've had a great time, and am definitely feeling that Christmas spirit!

We headed over to Manchester quite early yesterday and spent a few hours in and amongst the markets before we headed to the hotel for a little break.. I even had a sneaky little nap.. Luxury!

When we headed back out for some food, it was raining and quite miserable to be honest.. But it didn't take long before that was all forgotten and we had some  burgers, drinks and sweeties.. We also brought back a little picnic to the hotel with wine, cheese and crackers..

Life is good!!!

Hope you're all well!

Snapshots from Glasgow

Back from Glasgow now, and I've had such a good weekend! It really was the perfect city break - a bit of shopping, culture and a LOT of food..

We we're greeted by this lovely Christmas fair.. Love Glasgow :)

I know these masks should have freeked me out, but I really liked them! If you're ever in Glasgow, you should definitely pay the Kelvingrove a visit..

Yeah, the bf thought it would be fun to block me in the bathroom whilst I was having a shower.. He was rather annoyed that I wasn't scared when I opened the door... Boys!!!

Afternoon tea! For breakfast.. That's how we roll..

We also went to the cinema to see the newest Twilight film, and I haven't made my mind up yet.. I liked bits of it, but not sure what I thought of the ending..Either way, it doesn't really matter as the bf got me a bag of popcorn and some chocolates! I was a happy bunny..

Hope you've all had a good weekend and that you're ready to face a new week tomorrow!

Catch you later...
